Alexandra Bodea is a figurative Romanian painter concerned about the ludic and mystic sense of things, bodies and parts of the bodies. She was born in Cluj Napoca, city of Transylvania, Romania. She is studying Painting at the local University of Art and Design.
artist statement:
“I dare to call myself a ,,mystical photo realist”. I mainly work after photos that I take , but I do not keep strictly to them (like hyper realists do) as I try to go ,,further” the simple image. I make some changes that will generate a more bizarre, kind of religious atmosphere that will give the impression that ,,something else” is there, behind the surface.
I try to bring on the canvas the signs of the transcendence.“
